Vulnerable - I am only this strong
Rolling waves splashing softly,
Breaking over the sand gently.
Shadows casts as twilight breaks,
Silence reigns as darkness wakes.
Sitting alone under a star-less sky,
A tear escapes from my eye.
Gazing at the moon in the sea,
Hold my breath counting to three.
Swallowing my sorrows and my tears,
Clenching my fist and facing my fears.
Time would heal my heart and pain,
A brave front to them I must feign.
Couples nearby all lovey-dovey,
Cuddling as if it was heaven’s decree.
As time ticked towards midnight,
Hands clasped they took flight.

A single sob broke the tranquillity,
Such is a mere human’s vulnerability.
